     SAMIA FARAH 'S BIOGRAPHY

this is her First record sleeve for  a first album 1999.
SAMIA FARAH is a French Tunisian singer/ song-writer, producer and designer who grew up in France... Her Father, a slightly eccentric human being, introduced her to music, movies,art litterature and sense of humour..... .. In 1999 Samia released an album for Sony France where she sings, plays Melodica,wrote and co-composed the whole album with Giovanny Delahunda( Aka Giovanny Adrien)
She was in this time very fond of jazz  and reggae she  wanted to work with jazz musicians and Andre Ceccarelli , Laurent de wilde are featured on this first highly acclaimed recording that she concieved..... She also invited the UK mixer and producer Adrian Sherwood to mix a few tracks .
Samia worked with musicians from many and  different backgrounds .. such as Richard Dorfmeister(Austria) "Heidi Bruhel", Adrian Sherwood(U.K.) on his album "Becoming a Cliche" with her song "J'ai Change"... ( she also designed the record sleeve for this album.) Hiroshi Yamauchi. .. Samia has also done a duet with Lee Perry(Jamaica) "yellow tongue" ..on his new album "The mighty Upsetter".(a remix by Kode 9 has also been done of this song) she wrote the song ,recorded in Paris and gave him the track to have his opinion which that end on hos Lp.. ..  Brasilian sound system Moa Ambessa... She has also recorded a track for Dj center (Brooklyn U.S.)"Tout passe".with a remix by dj Wajeed...and so on.
Samia's second album "The Many Moods Of..." has just been released (2009),it features 16 new tracks ... The sleeve for the album was made with collage references to Sophie Tauber-Arp. Samia studied Digital Media and design at the London College of the Art . She now lives in London ,and is preparing an Arabic dub album produced and composed by herself and Many other things as Travel DUMB images and video editing. She is since few years now films her travels around the world and concerts as ..(The slitsUK,Lee PerryUK,Puppetshow in Viet Nam,Cambodia Orphan house,Mutabaruka)..She also records Audio Dubs in Collography, collusion of audio foetus ..for non pregnant womEn the project is at its embryonic state.

In 2021 she wrote a novel 
"Bangkok a ma table" and was plagiarized by à "journalist " name Lili-âne hassan that no body really knows... Using her détective skills, it appears that the novel was written by men who went thru 15 years of Samia Farah's work...
Including putting in words her visuals, stealing some of her songs etc... Gallimard, a publishing company   known for their plagiarism is staying silence for now .
Samia Farah's  is writing other novels and is dedicating her time to her filming and visual art ...

In 2023 she was invited for 2 artists residency program to work on sculptures  ,one in India  Madhya Pradesh and the other one in Miyagi musĂ©um of kokeshi dolls Japan , where she created 2 kokeshis inspired by charecters of the Japanese film maker Shinoda.
She has also recorder music with 2 japanese band.. 
She lives between  the Uk and south eastAsia.






Samia Farah is a French Tunisian singer/song-writer, producer and visual artist who grew up

She studied digital Media and Design at the University of the Arts in London:
Her work navigates between the real and the surreal exploring themes like identities ,masks,Abstract dolls for abstract Women ,the aggressive toxic mother ,hijack dolls s , the Ka or the double ,wounds and Paraphernalia etc..
Her work attempts to reveal the collision between worlds, cultures, countries, faces, women hoods, habits,lies and truths.

Her works aims to raise questions about identities,masks as they reveal hidden forces ,assymetrical portraits of non westerner faces ,dolls for 'Abstract dolls for abstract woman"
 a serie of dolls that she created and sewd entirely,   a tool to reconciliate her non abilities to live a normal social life and "la mere devorante' contruction of motherhood and disfunctionning parenting, series of collages with shinning flat pearls.

She  uses herself as a subject adding masks or costumes that she creates
using mixed media, raising questions about what is seen is it what we do get? and vice versa..

Her digital collages mixed with ''play mind child  game '' illustrationadthat addd a surrealistic taste to her art. She uses mainly posca and acrylics ,Oil pastels, ink..etc

SAMIA FARAH started as an artist by recording music at the age of 18 , experimenting different kind of sounds, at the beginning her goals was the written message.
-She released her debut album for Sony France where she sings , plays and write songs in French ,plays Melodica , co-composed and Produced the album with Giovanny Delahunda her friend and colleague.

At this stage of her career, she was very fond of jazz ,bossa , Reggea Dub experimental music and wanted to work with jazz musicians , AndreCeccarelli and Laurent de Wilde are featured on this first highly acclaimed record.

The french were not really at the 'rendez vous 'as we know French always had an issue with artists who are and do things outside the box. THe world mainly in the US has celebrate the iconic Album .

Adrian Sherwood, the legendary UK engineer and producer lent his talents mixing few tracks for this first album.

Samia Farah ’s second album "The Many Moods Of..." SAMIA FARAH was released in 2009, which she coproduced musically as she is the owner of the Album rights too.
She sang ,produced and designed the art cover for this album.
The work with Sony staff was a desaster and were generally totally ignorant of the music it self ,Samia Farah's concept and work .

She wrote 'yellow tongue ' lyrics that she sangs with the legendary producer LEE SCRATCH PERRY, she is also planning to work with Dennis Bovel for a EP.

During her world travels, she has produced
a short documentary, “Typical Girls,” about equality and perception of women in the
Music industry including the last interview of The Slits singer Ari before she died of a breast cancer   This doc also includes The legendary reggae producer Dennis Bovel ,the poet Jean Binta Breeze etc...
She also produced interviewed and filmed a short documentary about Mutabaruka, the legendary  Jamaican dub poet.
She was Invited in Palestine and Mexico in the context of an artists in residency program.

After travelling the world she created and made dolls, ABSTRACT DOLLS FOR ABSTRACT WOMEN, Mosaics with a Tunisian flavor, assymetrical portraits of around the world portraits.
She is now writing a little booklet of poetry ,songs and a Play,she lived in the UK and in Bangkok  .
